Our Footprint slippers tend to run roomy, offering feet enough space to spread out without feeling constricted.
The opening is wide enough to easily slip into the slipper without using your hands.
Due to the open heel area, this model is primarily held on the foot by the instep. Depending on the foot shape, it may happen that you slip out of the slippers a little at the back when walking. Size recommendation: if you are between two sizes, choose the smaller size.
Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very susceptible to dirt. However, eventually it will be time for a cleaning. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, tap out the slippers and brush off any dirt, e.g., with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive detergents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our Lanolin Wool Cure to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them air dry at room temperature.

The leather sole is very stable and can be used outdoors (except in wet conditions). However, it quickly discolors dark when used outdoors, so we recommend using the shoes indoors if possible. Pointed stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.

Our customer favorite - The hand-felted barefoot slipper with Footprint footbed
The Footprint is one of our first slipper models and embodies everything we strive for with WoolFit.
We have moved away from stiff, uncomfortable footbeds and the problems of cold or sweaty feet.
Instead, our goal was to create a slipper that embodies softness, comfort, warmth, and flexibility - true delight for your feet. This is how the WoolFit Footprint was created, the first barefoot slipper on the German market.
What makes the Footprint special is not only that it is hand-felted in one piece, but also the thick felt layer integrated into the slipper, which allows your foot to leave its own individual footprint after a short period of wearing. Hence the name Footprint.
This slipper adapts to your foot, instead of you having to adapt to it.
Who is the Footprint suitable for?
The Footprint is perfect for those who don't prefer rigid footbeds and instead long for maximum softness and comfort. The version with a natural rubber sole is right for you if you have very slippery floors at home.
It is also the perfect choice for lovers of barefoot walking. Its flexible rubber sole allows for a natural rolling motion of the foot, while its foot-friendly shape grants additional toe freedom. Another advantage of the felt is that it gives slightly, so your feet never feel constricted.
Thanks to their exceptionally soft and seamless felt processing, these slippers are also particularly comfortable for people with sensitive feet. We have already received numerous positive feedbacks from people suffering from rheumatism or bunions, who greatly appreciate the comfort of the Footprint.
The Footprint is, by the way, a great slipper all year round and is nevertheless also excellently suited for cold days, as the thick felt layer provides optimal insulation against cold floors. For all those who need even more warmth and who love the Footprint footbed, we can also recommend our ankle-high slipper Yeti. That's essentially the Footprint as a boot.
How is the footprint made?
The Footprints are made using traditional manufacturing techniques. This means they are hand-felted directly around the last using the wet felting process. This requires a great deal of strength and skill. An interesting fact for all those who didn't know yet: Only wool, water, and soap are needed for felting.
Once the felt sock around the last is finished and dry, it's time for further processing. Here, the soles are cut out, glued to the shoe, and additionally sewn. Of course, our logo must not be missing to make the slippers WoolFits.
Sustainable Materials
We rely on sustainable and high-quality raw materials, including 100% natural virgin wool, genuine leather, and natural rubber.
Our Merino wool for the Nepalese slippers comes from New Zealand and is completely mulesing-free. It is considered particularly soft and comfortable on the skin.

Our Manufactory
The WoolFit Footprint is produced in a small Nepalese manufactory. Production is a social project that offers women from socially disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to support themselves independently of their husbands and to provide their children with an education.
