10 Reasons Why Wool Is the Perfect Material for Slippers
Find out why we decided to make our slippers from wool felt in this article.

1. Warm and breathable
Wool keeps your feet cozy and warm, while the small air chambers in the wool allow moisture to escape, keeping your feet dry and preventing overheating. This only works with pure wool.

2. Temperature-regulating:
Wool is known for being temperature-balancing. This means it tends to regulate body temperature by retaining warmth in cold weather and dissipating it in warm weather. Felt slippers are therefore ideal all year round.

3. Comfort:
We use 100% natural wool for all our felt slippers. This makes them feel soft and allows them to be worn barefoot. Natural wool is used by only a few manufacturers and is three times more expensive than wool blends.

4. Sustainable:
As long as sheep need haircuts (usually 1-2 times a year), there will be wool. Compared to plastics, wool is environmentally friendly and simply feels nicer on the skin.

5. Shelf life:
Felt has a unique structure, consisting of thousands of interwoven wool fibers, which form a stable structure during the felting process under force and pressure, and with the addition of soapy water. The longer and harder one felts, the more stable the material becomes (but also less soft). Felt is even used in industry as gears.

6. Easy to clean:
Normally, your slippers clean themselves, as the movement of the wool fibers repels dirt particles on the surface. More stubborn stains can be cleaned with a damp cloth or a dry horsehair brush. Our slippers with leather soles can also be washed in the washing machine on a wool wash cycle.

7. Stretchability:
Even if your slippers don't fit perfectly on the first try, the wool will stretch where it needs to and conform to your feet. Give them a little time on your feet and they'll fit like a second skin.

8. Anti-Odor:
Natural wool always lets enough fresh air reach your feet and is naturally antibacterial. No smelly feet!
*Except for the really difficult cases 😉

9. Water-repellent:
Have you ever wondered why sheep don't soak up water like a sponge in the rain? It's because wool contains lanolin – a fat that repels water and is also used in skincare products.

10. The feeling!:
Once you experience natural wool felt on your feet, you'll feel the difference. From now on, you'll notice the difference compared to synthetics and never want to go back.
