Our Classic fits true to size. If you are between two sizes, you should choose the larger one. Even with a high instep, it is very easy to slip into this model. Of course, due to the open heel, you also have a little less support on your foot than with closed slippers. However, due to its light weight, our Classic stays on the foot very well when walking.
Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very susceptible to dirt. Eventually, of course, it's time for a clean. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, dust off the slippers and brush off any dirt, e.g. with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive detergents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our Lanolin wool treatment to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.
You can find more information in our care tips.
The leather sole is very stable and can be used outdoors (except when wet). However, it quickly discolours to a darker shade, so we recommend using the shoes indoors if possible. Sharp stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.

High-quality felt slippers with natural rubber sole
Our Classic felt slippers are true masterpieces of
craftsmanship, embodying timeless elegance and
undoubtedly among the highest quality slippers in our
range. They are made from thick and robust felt, complemented by a removable felt insole, which not only provides warmth but also exceptional foot comfort.

Who is the Classic with natural rubber sole suitable for?
The Classic is the optimal choice for those looking for high-quality slippers with a particularly non-slip sole. This sole is perfect if you have very smooth floors at home.
Thanks to its removable insole, this slipper can be easily upgraded with a cost-effective new insole after long wear and tear. Furthermore, the Classic is also the right choice for people who use their own orthopedic insoles, provided these fit in terms of shape and size.
Its perfect fit also makes it the preferred option for anyone who wants to slip into their slippers quickly and effortlessly. The Classic is a versatile companion that proves its worth in the cold season as well as in warmer temperatures due to its open design.
And not to forget, the Classic is seamlessly hand-felted, making it the ideal choice for people with particularly sensitive feet.

How is the Classic made?
The traditional manufacturing technique of a pair of Classic slippers requires a variety of elaborate steps. Particularly time-consuming is the hand-felted blank, which gives each pair its unique comfort. For additional robustness, the felt in this model is processed in several passes with a hammer fulling machine.
If you would like to learn more about the detailed manufacturing steps, you can find further information under this link. There you can also see in a video with what dedication our Classic slippers are made by the talented craftsmen in Kyrgyzstan.
The production of the products is extremely gentle, as no toxic chemicals are used and no unnecessary waste is generated during production. All wool scraps are recycled or used as insulation material.

Sustainable Materials
We rely on sustainable & high-quality raw materials, including organic virgin wool from local shepherds, vegetable-tanned leather, and natural latex.
By the way, what makes our Kyrgyz wool special is that it does not come from Merino sheep, but from Kyrgyz fat-tailed sheep. These animals live outdoors all year round and are exposed to the extreme climatic conditions of the harsh nature. Therefore, their curly wool is considered particularly warm and robust. The wool of these sheep is fundamentally mulesing-free.
Feel free to read our blog post about wool. Here you will find much more detailed information about this great and versatile material.

Our Manufactory
The WoolFit Classic is made in Kyrgyzstan in a woman-led
manufactory. The company is a collective of various artisans.
We are incredibly happy to collaborate with this manufactory,
as it is considered a top employer in the country and the Kyrgyz people are very proud of this company.
We trade directly & without intermediaries, so that 100% of the money reaches those who actually make the slippers.
