Woolies fit true to size. If they are a little tight at first, they will stretch out after a short wearing time. If you have a particularly high instep, the shoe might be too tight at the front seam.
Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very prone to dirt. Of course, eventually it's time for a cleaning. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, shake out the slippers and brush off any dirt, e.g., with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our Lanolin wool treatment to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.
Further information can be found in our care tips.
The leather sole is very durable and can be used outdoors (except when wet). However, it quickly discolors to a darker shade, so we recommend using the shoes only indoors if possible. Sharp stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.
As an online retailer, we focus on sustainability to enable guilt-free shopping. Our packaging is designed to be as environmentally friendly and thoughtful as possible.
We ship shoes climate-neutrally with DHL GoGreen. Our boxes are made from recycled material and sealed with plastic-free tape to ensure easy recycling.

The perfect symbiosis of slipper and tradition – hand-woven in Kyrgyzstan.
Our Woolies combine the best of two worlds: the lightness and comfort of a wool sock with the stability and durability of a slipper. The result is feather-light, flexible, and wonderfully warm slippers that gently hug your feet.

Who are Woolies suitable for?
The Woolies have a spacious toe box and adapt to the shape of your foot. They are ideal for fans of barefoot shoes and barefoot walking.
Compared to our WoolFit Footprints, the Woolie has a slightly rougher wool, which most people won't notice. However, sensitive feet should opt for the Footprint instead.
Fit note: Woolies now fit very true to size, so you can order them in your usual size.
If they feel a bit too large when you try them on, we recommend ordering an insole (3, 5, or 8 millimeters, depending on space) from us free of charge. This will also make them even softer and prevent wear and tear.

How are Woolies made?
Like all our other slipper models, the Woolies are characterized by first-class craftsmanship. However, they differ from our other models in that they are not felted but hand-woven.
This traditional hand-weaving technique is primarily used in Kyrgyzstan for making thick and robust wool carpets.
However, our skilled Kyrgyz artisans have perfected this technique to create these unique hand-woven slippers. We recently had to increase the prices for the Woolies slightly, as the effort involved in traditional weaving is extremely high. 100% of the price increase (minus VAT) goes to the weavers. Feel free to watch the Woolies manufacturing video for more information.

Sustainable Materials
We rely on sustainable & high-quality raw materials, including organic virgin wool from local shepherds and natural rubber for the sole.
By the way, what's special about our Kyrgyz wool is
that it doesn't come from Merino sheep, but from Kyrgyz fat-tailed sheep. These animals live outdoors all year round and are exposed to the extreme climatic conditions of the harsh nature. Therefore, their curly wool is considered particularly warm and robust. The wool of these sheep is fundamentally mulesing-free.
Feel free to read our blog post about wool. Here you will find much more detailed information about this great and versatile material.

Our Manufactory
The WoolFit Woolie is made in Kyrgyzstan in a women-led manufactory. The company is a collective of various artisans.
We are incredibly happy to work with this manufactory, as it is considered a top employer in the country and the Kyrgyz people are very proud of this company.
We trade directly & without intermediaries, so that 100% of the money goes to those who actually make the slippers.
