Our Taiga slipper socks run a bit small, so we recommend choosing one size larger. The model fits snugly on the foot and is still very flexible, giving you maximum freedom of movement.
Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very susceptible to dirt. However, at some point it is naturally time for a cleaning. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, tap out the slippers and brush off the dirt, for example with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our Lanolin Wool Cure to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.
Further information can be found in our care tips.
The leather sole is very stable and can be used outdoors (except in wet conditions). However, it quickly discolors dark when used outside, so we recommend using the shoes indoors if possible. Sharp stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.
As an online retailer, we focus on sustainability to enable guilt-free shopping. Our packaging is designed to be as environmentally friendly and thoughtful as possible.

High Felt Slipper Made of 100% Wool – Naturally Warm & Comfortable
The WoolFit Taiga is one of our most popular models for good reason. It combines the natural comfort of a felt slipper with a modern, sporty style that clearly sets it apart from classic slippers.
Its high-cut design warms the feet up to the ankles and provides comfortable support. Thanks to the heel tab and the integrated elastic band, it is easy to put on and fits perfectly – without pressure points. The high-quality wool felt gently adapts to the foot, ensuring a continuously comfortable feel.
The leather sole makes the Taiga particularly light, durable, and antistatic – ideal for wood, carpet, or tile floors.
By the way: The Taiga is also available with a natural rubber sole for a firm grip on smooth floors.

Who is the Taiga suitable for?
The Taiga with leather sole is unisex and ideal for anyone who wants to move freely and naturally in everyday life. Its flexible zero-drop sole supports a healthy, natural walking sensation – completely without harsh transitions.
It is the perfect choice for anyone
- who walks on warm surfaces at home (wood, carpet),
- who values lightness and flexibility,
- or for whom open slippers offer too little support and warmth.
Its sporty and elegant style makes it the ideal companion – whether for a leisurely breakfast, reading on the couch, or concentrated work at the desk.

How is Taiga made?
Unlike models such as the WoolFit Classic, which are made from a single piece of felt, the Taiga consists of several carefully sewn-together felt pieces.
First, felt sheets of the appropriate density are produced, then cut into precise patterns and sewn. Afterwards, the upper is pulled onto a shoe last, ironed, and shaped until the perfect fit is achieved.
Production is carried out resource-efficiently and without chemical additives. Wool waste generated is fully recycled – as insulation material or for new felt products.

Sustainable Materials
We rely on high-quality, natural raw materials:
-
Organic virgin wool from Kyrgyz fat-tailed sheep,
-
vegetable-tanned leather for the sole,
- and natural latex as an environmentally friendly adhesive.
The wool of these sheep is particularly warming, robust, and mulesing-free. It comes from animals that live outdoors all year round and adapt to extreme climatic conditions.
You can learn more about this unique material in our blog post about wool. Here you will find much more detailed information about this great and versatile material.

Our Manufactory
The WoolFit Taiga is made in Kyrgyzstan, in a women-led manufacture that is considered a flagship company in the country. Here, experienced artisans work with great care in their craft.
We are proud of this partnership: The manufacture offers fair working conditions, is highly respected regionally, and ensures that all proceeds directly benefit the people who make the slippers.
Recently, our production even made it into American Vogue: Click here for the article
