Real felt made from 100% regionally sourced virgin wool: super light & tear-resistant
The backpack is made from 100% virgin wool, which is processed into felt by hand. This has a strikingly low weight, but is still extremely durable & tear-resistant. In production, we work with felt artists from Kyrgyzstan, placing the highest value on fair working conditions and equitable pay. In addition, we produce, package & ship 100% plastic-free.
Usable in two different sizes
Depending on its purpose, the backpack can be used in two different sizes. Transforming from large to small and vice versa is very easy: with the small carabiner hook at the end of the shoulder strap, it can be attached either in the middle or at the very top of the backpack. The upper part of the backpack can then be easily folded inwards or outwards along the seams.
In its unfolded form, the backpack is perfect for weekly shopping, school, university, or even hiking - even if pumpkins, watermelons, or a 1000-page philosophical almanac by Ludwig Wittgenstein need to fit in it. Thanks to the extremely tear-resistant wool felt, you don't have to worry at all if you fill the backpack to the brim with heavy items. It can be securely closed at the top with a zipper.
In its folded form, it is the perfect fashion accessory for on the go - whether for a festival, the beach, or smaller errands. It still offers enough space for your favorite everyday items.
Two practical side pockets with zippers
On the outside, there are also two small zippered pockets that allow quick access to their contents without having to open the entire backpack. Here, you can also wonderfully store your phone, keys, etc.
Adjustable shoulder straps with practical swivel joint
The two shoulder straps can, of course, also be adjusted in width. This means the backpack always sits firmly & stably, regardless of your height, without uncomfortably restricting your freedom of movement.Another small, but extremely practical feature: the straps are connected to the backpack with a swivel joint. You probably know it: you're in a hurry, throw the backpack over your shoulder, and suddenly you notice that the strap is on your shoulder the wrong way around or has twisted itself somewhere. Thanks to the swivel joint, this doesn't happen with the Origami Backpack.
Space-saving & easy to store
When the backpack is not needed, it can also be easily folded completely flat to take up hardly any space in your room. This also makes it perfect as a travel backpack, as it fits into any suitcase without taking up unnecessary space. WoolFit founder Benni got the inspiration for the Origami Backpack when he saw the 'backpack corner' in the family home. Unused backpacks piled up there, taking up a lot of space and simply radiating disorder. Together with a Kyrgyz felt designer, we then developed our Origami Backpack.
