Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very prone to dirt. However, at some point, it is time for a cleaning. Here's how:

  1. Preparation: First, tap out the slippers and brush off the dirt, for example, with our felt brush.
  2. Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
  3. Washing machine: Use the delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
  4. Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our lanolin wool treatment to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
  5. Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.

You can find more information in our care tips.

The leather sole is very durable and can also be used outdoors (except when wet). However, it will quickly darken, so we recommend using the shoes indoors if possible. Sharp stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.

As an online retailer, we focus on sustainability to enable a guilt-free shopping experience. Our packaging is designed to be as environmentally friendly and thoughtful as possible.

We ship shoes climate-neutrally with DHL GoGreen. Our cartons are made from recycled material and sealed with plastic-free tape to ensure easy recycling.

Open-back felt slippers with no heel collar

To kick off WoolFit, we opened a small pop-up store at the Goslar Christmas Market and gathered valuable feedback. We often heard statements like: "Otherwise, I always step on the back" or "That hurts my sensitive heels." Our conclusion: Many of our customers want a felt slipper without a heel rim. That's why we added the Tibet model to our product range.

Felting by hand allows for the creation of a particularly dimensionally stable and high-quality slipper without a rim. The open and wide fit ensures that even people with slightly larger or smaller feet can easily fit into these slippers, making this model ideal for guests.

Who is the Tibet for?

The Tibet is particularly suitable for people who like to slip into their slippers in no time at all, without buckles or straps. This slipper also fulfills the wishes of individuals who are used to flattening the heel of traditional slippers and are looking for a comfortable alternative.

If your feet tend to overheat or sweat quickly, the Tibet is also an excellent choice. Its open design ensures optimal ventilation and keeps your feet fresh and comfortable.

In addition, this slipper is especially suitable for travel enthusiasts who want to enjoy their slippers while on the go. With its light and flexible structure, the Tibet is a space-saving companion in your luggage and provides comfort and warmth even when you're away from home.

Moreover, it is ideal for sensitive feet, as it has no pressing edges and offers a wide and adaptable fit.

Thanks to its open design, the Tibet is also excellent as a guest slipper, as it flexibly adapts to different foot sizes, making it the perfect slipper for guests.

How is the Tibet made?

The Tibets are manufactured using traditional production techniques. This means they are hand-felted directly around the last using the wet felting method. This requires a lot of strength and skill. An interesting fact for those who didn't know yet: all you need for felting is wool, water, and soap.

Once the felt sock around the last is finished and dry, it's time for further processing. Here, the soles are cut out, glued to the shoe, and additionally sewn. Of course, our logo must not be missing to turn the slippers into WoolFits.

Sustainable Materials

We rely on sustainable & high-quality raw materials, including 100% natural virgin wool, genuine leather, and natural rubber.

Our merino wool for the Nepalese slippers comes from New Zealand and is completely mulesing-free. It is considered particularly soft and pleasant on the skin.

Feel free to read our blog post about wool. Here you will find much more detailed information about this great and versatile material.

Our Manufactory

The WoolFit Tibet is manufactured in a small Nepalese manufactory. The production is a social project that offers women from educationally disadvantaged social classes the opportunity to support themselves independently of their husbands and to enable their children to receive an education.

With your purchase, you not only support our small company, but above all the felt artists in Nepal, who produce these beautiful felt slippers for us with elaborate handicraft.

We trade directly & without intermediaries, so that 100% of the money reaches those who actually make the slippers.
