The new Yeti is a bit smaller. If in doubt, we therefore recommend choosing one size larger.
Felt is largely self-cleaning and not very susceptible to dirt. At some point, however, it is time for a clean. Here's how:
- Preparation: First, shake out the slippers and brush off any dirt, e.g. with our felt brush.
- Hand wash: We recommend hand washing, but WoolFits with leather soles can also be machine washed.
- Washing machine: Use the gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use aggressive detergents. Instead, use a mild wool detergent.
- Care: Additionally, after washing, the shoes can be treated with our lanolin wool treatment to restore the natural properties of the wool (dirt and water repellent).
- Drying: After washing, stuff the damp shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.

The leather sole is very sturdy and can be used outdoors (except when wet). However, it quickly discolors dark when used outdoors, so we recommend only using the shoes indoors if possible. Pointed stones can also damage the sole. The average lifespan of our leather soles is 2-4 years.

Who is the Yeti suitable for?

This ankle-high slipper is perfect for those with chronically cold feet and who long for an extra dose of warmth. The Yeti is a great companion for cold days, as it optimally insulates you from cold floors. Its thick, hand-felted material ensures that your feet stay warm and cozy, even when it's icy outside.
The flexible leather sole allows for a natural rolling motion of the feet and the fit provides ample toe room, making it also suitable for people who like to wear barefoot shoes.

How is the Yeti made?
The WoolFit Yeti is made using a traditional manufacturing technique. This means that the slippers are hand-felted directly around the last using the wet-felting method. This requires a great deal of strength and skill. An interesting fact for those who didn't know: you only need wool, water, and soap for felting.
Once the felt sock around the last is finished and dry, it's time for further processing.
New to the Yeti is the integrated footbed - similar to the open slipper model Sherpa, which provides gentle support when standing, but is so flexible that the foot muscles are challenged and encouraged.
Afterward, the soles are cut out, glued to the shoe, and additionally sewn. Our logo, of course, must not be missing to make the slippers WoolFits.
Sustainable Materials
We rely on sustainable & high-quality raw materials, including 100% natural virgin wool, genuine leather, and natural rubber. Only the small footbed wedge is made of plastic for a firm grip & stability.
By the way, our merino wool for the Nepalese slippers comes from New Zealand and is completely mulesing-free. It is considered particularly soft and pleasant on the skin.

The WoolFit Yeti is produced in a small Nepalese manufactory. The production is a social project that offers women from disadvantaged social classes the opportunity to support themselves independently of their husbands and to enable their children to receive an education.
